Trip to Luxemburg to the European Investment Bank,
May 21, 2014

The President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Werner Hoyer, invited representatives of the European Women's Circle to visit the EIB on May 21, 2014 to talk about the bank's structures and aims.

The EIB's important role as largest emitter among the supranational credit agencies and its significance during the financial crisis within the EU became apparent over the course of talks with the President and high ranking representatives of the European Investment Fund (EIF).

The discussion with members of the European Women's Circle focused on the support of small and mid-sized companies, of research, education, innovation, and environmental measures.

With its extraordinary lending volume of 72 billion Euros just in 2013, the EIB furthers to a high degree the growing together of EU member states. Thus, the EIB is a European institution warranting much more awareness within the EU.
