The growing together of the European nations to a united Europe was, is, and will be a protracted step-by-step process. Every small step counts. This was the slogan for 25 women going to Paris to establish personal contacts.

Daniela Topp-Burghardt had organised meetings with politicians and a cultural programme for four days in Paris. Fantastic summer weather and the famed French Cuisine accompanied our happy group.

The group enjoyed not only an extensive sightseeing programme and cultural experiences, but also – as focus of the trip – political discussions with Marie-Therese Hermange, MEP and Christine Bruneau, Deputy Mayor of Boulogne-Billancourt. Topics ranged from the influence of women on economics and politics and interesting aspects of childcare in France together with the compatibility of family and work to the integration of foreigners and urban management.

The lively talks made it clear that our neighbours have problems similar to ours. Everybody was looking forward to keep in touch and expand the exchange of ideas.

The trip was a women’s politico-cultural success.
